Curriculum Vitae:

MICHAEL NITSCH was born on January 28th 1965 in Cologne/Germany.

He was only 12 years old, when his father Wolfgang taught him his first guitar chords and made him listen to Jazz records.
Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Jim Hall, Tal Farlow, Johnny Smith and Kenny Burell were the guitarists he was exposed to at that particular time.
A great love and admiration for Jazz became a big part of his personal style of guitar playing.

Later on, being 16 years old, he founded his first Blues Band, heavyly influenced by players like B.B. King, Albert King, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix.

In 1988 the guitarist and singer Robben Ford released his debut album "Talk to your daughter". Michael recalls there was nobody around at that time who was able to blend Jazz and Blues in such a tasty way like Ford did on that record.

Finally there was a way to play the Blues using all that jazzy stuff, too! Michael played countless gigs using that conceptual approach of playing the Blues with a swing feel.

When he moved to Munich in 1998 he was hired for lots of studio jobs and did jingles for AEG, LOGITECH, MEGGLE, KARSTADT and many other companies.
In 2004 he was one of the founder members of the lounge pop band "Fat's Jojo Magic" who released their debut CD later that year.

Right there after he got hired to be the lead guitarist in the "Donnelly Blues Band".

His latest project is the" J.J. Jones Band" where he was hired as a lead guitarist, as well.

Until today he is living in Munich, working and touring with his own group, the "MICHAEL NITSCH BAND", and teaches the art of playing the guitar to a still growing number of students.

Handing down what he learned playing live in various bands and styles, having been a student himself at the MGI, Cologne, is another satisfying part of what he is doing today.
